Storm 8 is stealing from you (maybe)

Do you have a Storm 8 game? or 12? I just saw over at Macworld blog that they have been accused of stealing phone numbers.  This had come up before and they claimed it was a bug.  Kind of an odd and potentially lucrative bug.  For me it boils down to did they use the information for profit after they discovered the “bug” or did they destroy it?  An “oversight” allowed the bug to get back in to a release.

MacHeist nanoBundle available

Just a heads up the guys over at MacHeist have a nanoBundle available.  They have up to 6 apps, ShoveBox, WriteRoom, Twitterific, TinyGrab and Hordes of Orcs.  If 500,000 people sign up to download the apps then Mariner Write is added to the bundle as well.  The bundle costs absolutely nothing, yes that means it is free.   So head on over to MacHeist click the button at the top to sign up.  My guess is you will like at least one if not two of the apps and you will be helping out the folks who really want Mariner Write.

Like Google Voice, invite a friend

I received my Google Voice number a few months back and dig it so much that I have told others to sign up to get their invite, but really who wants to talk face to face anymore. I mean hell, I have Google Voice so I dont have to talk. The beauty of it is, if i want a specific person or group of persons to hear specific voice mail, I can set it up so that I can answer the question in the voice mail that they hear.

Beginning today, Google Voice will have the option of inviting a friend. This is going to be a slow roll-out, so it may not display for a few weeks. Initially, you will only be able to invite up to three people, but as time goes on, Google is planning to allow unlimited invites.

iPhone OS biggest phone OS in the World

Found an interesting article over at Mac Rumors.  Seems AdMob and advertising company measures the OSes that hit their ads on the web.  The numbers may not be 100% accurate but I am guessing they probably trend pretty accurate.  I have no idea what the sample size for this company is over a month or how big their foot print is.  Apple took over the number 1 spot from Feburary to August. Fatty Spins Apple Store Song

This was IMed to me by one of our shyer contributors to this site.  Fatty Spins – I fell in Love at the Apple Store. The video was filmed on one of the 5th avenue demo laptops.  While he doesn’t have the dance moves of MJ he is able to incorporate an amazing number of Apple products in his song.  The funniest thing to me is watching the people behind him.  Only a few people even look  at him.  Enjoy.

iTunes 9.0.1 and the mini player

iTunes 9.0.1 was released today with some minor bug fixes. Per Apple’s release notes, it fixes bugs browsing the iTunes Store, performance issues where iTunes becomes unresponsive, problems when syncing Podcasts in play lists with iPhone or iPod, fixes the bug where iTunes unexpectedly quits, improves application syncing with iPhone and iPod Touch. The bug fix that raised my eyebrow is the bug in regards to the iTunes Mini Player. (more…)

eCigarette old news?

It is technology, it is touch but no I am not going to do an actual review.  This has apparently been all over the place, major networks and the like, but I have never heard about this until I saw an article linked to the Broward-Post.  They have a fake cigarette that glows red, gives you “smoke” to breath out and has special filters that will give you nicotine.  These can be “Smoked” anywhere even in places smoking is banned.  Pretty crazy I wonder how long it will be until I see one.  If you have actually run across this in real life  please leave a comment. I am not sure how many of you were disappointed they didn’t announce an iMac bump and price drop at the Jazz, err I mean Rock and Roll, Event. I wasn’t surprised but I did really want a small bump and a price drop would have been nice. There were a few rumors floating around to this effect but it went they way of the camera in the touch. We may have some hope again.
