Windows Users: WinX DVD Ripper free until Sep 30

Today the Cheapskate has delivered the goods. Digiarty Software is offering WinX DVD Ripper Platinum for free until Sep 30th. At one point it was 49.90, but more recently the price was 24.95. Today….free!

This is a great deal as it allows you to rip your movies to your harddrive in many of the popular video formats, AVI, WMV, MP4 etc. Also if you want to rip said movie to your portable device, there’s a format for that, including iPhone, iPod, PSP, PDA, as well as the ever popular Zune format as well.

Prior to me discovering Handbrake and my Mac, I was going to purchase this at the 50 dollar mark a year or two ago. With this being free, I may just turn on the my Windows tower and go get it just in case.

  1. DVDfab HD Decrypter (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm) has always been free, and it receives frequent updates when the movie houses try to update their encryption methods. Couple of us have been using it running in VMware or Parallels for quite some time. It’s awesome. Problem with getting your free app is they probably won’t be committed to updating your version since it will go back to being a paid app. I use it to rip my 3 netflix movies a week, then handbrake the rest for my appletv/iphone/psp.
