iTunes 9 Mini Player re-sizer controversy

Not sure how many of you used the green + button on iTunes to toggle between the mini player and a window that is easy to work with music.  Personally I used it all the time.  It is nice to have the mini player at the top of all of my spaces then when I wanted to change something just pop the + make the change and pop the + again.  iTunes 9 has changed to a normal window function with the + however.  This now will just swap between two different sizes of window but will not minimize down to the mini player size.

They do have a keyboard shortcut Shift+Command+M.  Not a solution in my book because it is painful at best to do with one hand, impossible at worst.  A bit of Googleing turned up an acceptable alternative that Apple was kind enough to think through the fact that they were taking this functionality away.  TUAW had the tip, just hold down the option key when you click the + and viola!  It does just what it did before.  Hope this helps some of you out!

  1. I am actually glad they are doing this. It was annoying that I had to manually size the iTunes window everytime. At least they still gave us an option to continue to do it.
