Who Needs iTunes 9?

I’ve been waiting for 3.1 to come out before jailbreaking my iPhone again, but I think this might have just pushed me over the edge. It’s called Movement, and in a nutshell it’s an app that allows you to arrange your iPhone apps from your computer, but the catch is it only works on a jailbroken iPhone. Currently doing the cumbersome act of hold, wait for wiggle, then drag the stupid app across 8 flippin pages on your iPhone only have it push another app to the next page is getting old. I can tell you that me, and a couple of buddies have been talking about a feature like this from the time the App Store was birthed over a year ago, so a feature like this is a long time coming.  It has been rumored as of late that iTunes 9 may have a feature like this in the works, but it may be too little too late. It seems like the hacker crowd has once again gained the upper hand in delivering iPhone features the community has been calling for, while Apple sits back, and takes their sweet time. If this program works as good as I think it will, and is polished, then I think it’s time to jailbreak my iPhone again.  Download it, and give it a try (no Windows version yet).  A couple of our reviewers have jailbroken iPhones, so hopefully they’ll create a post to review it.

  1. This is the one thing I really wanted in 9 so I would love to see this in action. Maybe I can run across someone tomorrow who could demo this if not write a full blown review for us 😉

  2. Agreed. This is the one killer feature that would make everyone’s life on the iPhone so much easier. I think it would even be cool to add a title to your pages so when your swiping through your pages real fast it would it pass the the title as a scaled up text overlay similar to how it does on the iPods when your scrolling through your music library real fast and it shows the current letter of the alphabet your on. Just a little something else to add to the effect. Actually something that would be pretty pro would be and expose feature!!!

  3. Apple is late to the dance on many features like this. Regretfully, it will always be this way with them!
