Wild West pinball

Filed under: Mobile Apps — sinodux @ 08:57

Wild West pinball has been the #1 free app download on the store for quite a while now. The art and sound are really really well done. They took a lot of time to make it look and sound like real standup machine. There are several other pinball games out there. I looked at Small Ball and Pinball Dreaming. Neither of these games give you the feel of playing a pinball machine. They may or may not be an iPhone game you like but you still feel like you are playing a game on the iPhone.

This game is worth a look though even if you don’t like pinball. Aside from the art and sound the physics are fantastics. The game scrolls around the board very smoothly and makes the game very easy to follow. This game is worth a look just to see a really well done game even if you don’t like pinball.

My one complaint would be it does not have enough gadgets on the pinball game itself. One of my chief complaints about the game is also one of my chief complaints about real pinball games. Cheap pinball games don’t have enough different types of bouncer and objects to control on the board with your flippers. The ball spends a lot of time clacking off of hard edges and not enough time bouncing around and racking up points. Even still give it a look.

  1. My biggest complaint is how the camera pans throughout the game. As the ball comes towards the flippers the camera is typically late and you cant see the ball and you wildly flip the flippers with hopes of hitting the ball, let alone placing it where you want. I agree they have done an outstanding job on the graphics, however unless they fix the camera issue, in my opinion, its useless to play.

  3. They have a new pinball game coming out with a lot more bells and whistles it looks like. It will be called The Deep. More to come once this is out 😀
